The Adult Day Health Care program provides daytime medical and social support to family caregivers who are caring for an older adult at home. Last year, due to community support and your donations, we were able to provide 2306 fee-reduced respite care days, and 96 days of free service. This not only makes a difference in life quality to the client but also the family caregiver. A grateful family member expressed it this way:
"the grant was so unexpected yet comes at a special time when our spirits needed a lift...The Carr Center has shown us what caring people can accomplish!"
We provide Adult Day Care to individuals who may require some supervision during daytime hours. Individuals with Alzheimer's, Parkinson's and other physical or cognitive limitations receive a quality activity and social program.
Medical monitoring and support are provided by a registered nurse and trained staff. Referrals to this program are made through a variety of sources including Area Agency on Aging, physicians, social service staff and individuals services.
